Eckard Travel Co., LLC is a travel advisory based in North Carolina, run by Tyler Eckard. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through eckardtravelco.com. “We”, “us” and “I” all mean Eckard Travel Co., LLC.
The short version: we collect only what we need to plan your trip and send the newsletter you asked for.
- We don't sell your information.
- We don't use advertising trackers.
- You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
What we collect
When you use the Plan My Trip form, we collect what you enter:
- Your name and email address
- The kind of trip you're planning, rough travel dates and number of travelers
- Your budget range, if you choose to give one
- Any notes you add
We also record the page you sent the form from, so we know which part of the site you were on. Please don't include sensitive details such as passport or payment information in the form. We'll ask for what's needed for a booking directly and securely.
When you join the newsletter or request the Quote Checklist, we collect your email address. We may also note which list or guide you signed up from, so the emails you get match what you asked for.
When you email us at info@eckardtravelco.com, we keep the conversation, including anything you choose to tell us about your trip.
Automatically, when you visit the site, our hosting provider processes basic technical information, like your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. It uses this to deliver the site, keep it secure and block spam. The forms use a security check (Cloudflare Turnstile) that looks at browser signals to tell people from bots. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify you or follow you to other websites.
How we use it
- To reply to your inquiry, plan your trip, and make and manage any bookings you ask us to make.
- To send the newsletter or the resources you signed up for. Every email has an unsubscribe link. Our email provider tells us whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, and we use that to send you content that fits the trips you're interested in.
- To keep the website working, secure and free of spam.
- To keep the business records we're required to keep.
Who else handles your information
We use a small number of service providers to run the business. They handle information on our behalf and only for these purposes:
- HubSpot stores trip inquiries so we can track and reply to them.
- MailerLite manages the newsletter list and sends our emails.
- Cloudflare hosts the website, runs the form security check and privacy-friendly visit counts, and keeps short-term technical logs.
- Our email provider handles messages sent to info@eckardtravelco.com.
When you book a trip, we share the details needed to make the reservation with the travel suppliers involved. That may include cruise lines, resorts, tour operators, airlines, transfer companies and travel insurers, plus the booking systems we use to reach them. Each supplier handles your information under its own privacy policy.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our clients or the business.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Cookies and tracking
This site doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies. Our visit counts come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies. Cloudflare may set a small number of strictly necessary cookies for security and spam protection. Because we don't track you across other websites, “Do Not Track” browser settings don't change how the site behaves.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry and booking information for as long as we're working with you and for a reasonable period afterward, for records, taxes and any questions about a past trip. Newsletter information stays until you unsubscribe. If you ask us to delete your information, we will, unless we're required to keep a record.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with the link at the bottom of every email.
- See, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailinginfo@eckardtravelco.com. We'll reply within 30 days, usually much sooner.
- Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under your state's laws. Ask and we'll help.
Children
This site is meant for adults planning travel. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you're a parent planning a family trip, you may tell us your children's ages or needs so we can plan well, and we use that only for your trip.
Keeping it secure
The site is served over an encrypted connection, the forms are protected against automated abuse, and access to our accounts is limited. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes that affect newsletter subscribers, we'll mention it in an email.
